Gordon Ramsay is on the hunt for the next generation of chefs in London.
And as he continues to make his mark in the capital’s dining scene, he’s seen the emergence of a whole new generation of innovators at the cutting-edge of cooking.
In this exclusive interview with The Independent, Gordon Ramsay discusses his career as a chef and his plans for the future of cooking in London and beyond.
I’m here in the city and the world as part of the London culinary scene.
It’s very different from what I’ve done in the US, where I’ve been working for 20 years.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with some great chefs over the years.
They’re really very talented, but they’re not doing anything I’m really used to doing.
I like to think of myself as an actor who can do any kind of role, whether it’s a chef or a professional athlete, but I’ve never really done anything like this.
The London experience has been very different.
I think I’m just at the stage now where I’m trying to take it further and hopefully have the opportunity to do something with this city, so I’m very happy.
What’s a typical day like working with Gordon Ramsay?
A typical day is usually around 7:30am and we’re working from 9:30, or later.
I can cook at 6pm, and I’m usually up around 8pm, so it’s kind of a combination of that and a bit of my own schedule that I’m always up in the morning.
How has working with the chefs you work with affected your career as an artist?
I think the most important thing I’ve learned is that you have to think about it like an actor.
You have to ask yourself what’s the role you want to play and what’s it going to be about?
I feel like I have to look at what I’m doing in terms of what I can do, and what I want to achieve with the people I’m working with.

I grew up with a lot of food and food is very important in my life.
So it’s been a huge influence, and now I have a great appreciation for food, and an understanding of what it’s really like to be on the kitchen table.
The chefs are all very talented and very interesting.
What I’m looking for in the future is something that is really exciting and new and very different to what I was doing in the past.
What are your favourite things to cook?
I have very few favourites.
I love to cook for myself, I love cooking for other people, and my favourite food is not necessarily necessarily what I am doing at the moment.
What can I cook?
There’s so many things I like, but also there are things that I love about cooking and what it means to me.
I really enjoy food, so the dishes that I like have a really rich history.
And I love creating recipes and getting inspired by people, as well.
How do you keep your kitchen tidy?
There is a lot more stuff in the kitchen than just kitchen utensils.
The kitchen is my personal space and I spend a lot time thinking about it.
It just keeps me occupied, and it’s like a meditation space.
How would you describe your cooking style?
The kitchen will be the first thing I’m in when I go out.
When I go to restaurants, I’m not really focused on what’s going on in the restaurant.
I just enjoy the food and go back to my desk.
What would you say is your favourite dish?
I love pasta.
I would love pasta from the traditional Italian tradition, which is something I love.
I also like things that are kind of lighter and more healthy and more delicious.
What else is in the fridge?
The refrigerator is very good, because it’s not that heavy and it holds all of the ingredients that you need.
I will usually have about four different kinds of food, but the thing I like most is what’s in the freezer.
It is the most relaxing thing.
What do you like to do when you aren’t cooking?
I like having fun.
I don’t really have a schedule for cooking, but if I do have to cook, I’ll do whatever I can.
I have so many ideas, I can’t really remember them all.
If I’m cooking, I like making something new and creating something new.
What kind of dishes do you love?
I’m a big fan of meaty dishes, like meatballs or meatloaf.
I’ll try things like a steak or something like that, or something that’s different.
What makes you feel happy when you’re cooking?
It’s like when you have a good time, it’s just great to have someone to
