How to watch Detroit’s Stanley Cup parade: Watch here
By Bruce Arthur – Detroit Free PressDetroit – A parade to celebrate Stanley Cup champions Detroit Red Wings is set to be held at Grand Rapids International Airport on Thursday evening.
The parade will start at 7:30 p.m. on the ground floor of Terminal 1, near the US Customs Building, the airline said in a statement.
It will proceed through the airport’s terminal, which will be open to the public, and end at the Detroit Red Wing headquarters.
The event is part of a series of events that begin Friday to celebrate the Detroit’s first Stanley Cup win since 2004.
A total of 32 teams from across the country are expected to participate in the festivities.
The event is being sponsored by the National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Bulls.
Detroit is scheduled to host three events in celebration of the Stanley Cup, including the Stanley Trophy Ceremony on Friday at 7 p.ms. and the NHL Draft on Saturday at 7 and 10 p.s.m., both of which will include NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman.
The draft, which begins Friday, will be held in Detroit’s Wayne County Convention Center.
The Stanley Cup Final between the Boston Bruins and Detroit Red Sox is slated to be broadcast live on NBC Sports Network and will air on NBC in the United States.
The Stanley Cup Trophy Ceremonies, which began Friday night in Boston, will begin on Sunday in Detroit.
The Final between Boston and the Red Wings will air live on Sunday at 8 p.p.m on NBC.
