Trump’s ‘pompous’ tweet about Steel Tails makes his job easier, Axios says
Trump’s tweets on Friday that “Steel Tails is a total disaster” were, in Axios’ words, “pompously” overblown.
“Trump’s Twitter feed was full of ridiculous tweets and insults that he made up on the fly.
It was, to put it bluntly, a massive waste of time,” Axios senior vice president of communications Matt Miller said in a statement.
“It is also an insult to the Steel Tailed, which is a critically endangered species.
The Steel Tail is currently at risk from overhunting and habitat loss.
As Trump’s comments made clear, he is only concerned with his own political goals, which are clearly unachievable.
The Trump presidency is going to be a lot harder than he made it out to be, Axioms.”
The news outlet went on to note that Trump’s tweet was in response to a news article about the Steel Tail, which was recently listed on the U.S. Endangered Species Act’s endangered species list.
Trump’s Twitter account has been flooded with comments from people saying they want the animals to go extinct, and others saying that he’s not doing enough to protect them.
A Steel Tailing is an endangered species that has not been listed as endangered since the 1970s.
“The Trump administration has not taken a single action to protect the Steel-tailed Bear and other endangered American mammals,” Miller said.
